Overview

The Sr. Business Acquisition Executive (BAE) sales position solicits, sells, implements, and expands executive level business relationships at the high end of the building service contractor market and qualifies potential new janitorial and sanitation “jan/san” (CBFS) opportunities. The Sr. Business Acquisition Executive (BAE) expands relationships within strategically important targeted customers. Typically, these customers have multiple locations, which could be found across multiple districts or regions. By working closely with strategic vendor partners and through industry association affiliations, the incumbent must orchestrate undefined areas of opportunity and match ODP Business Solutions capabilities. In many cases, this will require intricate timing based on the scope and scale of the new business opportunity.

 

This position is responsible for nurturing and building C-level relationships and is also expected to work with multiple individuals of authority within the hierarchy of decision makers within the customer’s organization and relate it to the ODP Business Solutions value proposition. This balance must take into consideration, our national regional and local capabilities that may result in multiple customer locations or regions.

 

The Sr. Business Acquisition Executive position targets, qualifies, sells, closes prospects and implements and expands relationships within high facilities (jansan) potential targets (Building Service Contractors, Property Management, in-house facility maintenance). The Sr. Business Acquisition Executive works within a defined territory and/or vertical. In addition to hunting prospects, the Business Acquisition Executive will also maintain and grow the business before handing to a CBFS retention representative.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

  • Engaged in sales activities outside of the office, face-to-face, including, but not limited to, creating relationships with decision influencers, decision makers, end users, current buyers and new prospects within an organization to develop a clear, complete understanding of their business issues and needs. Sales activities include selling programs to non-participating members of new prospect customers, and to existing ODP Business Solutions customers, a further and deeper range of products and services from ODP Business Solutions. By working with vendors, trade associations, the Sr Executive, Business Acquisition Executive (BAE) will help create, execute and deliver results based on a defined annual sales quota as outlined in the Incentive Compensation Plan.
  • Leads solution development efforts that best address customer needs, while coordinating the involvement of all necessary company personnel.
  • Partners with the Enterprise level sales team to achieve a defined CBFS sales quota based on account and territory potential. Conduct joint customer sales calls to present and develop specifically defined opportunities. Identify, growth areas and close new opportunities for products, services and solutions.
  • Establishes productive, professional relationships with C-level executives in assigned customer accounts. Coordinates the involvement of company personnel, including support, service, and management resources, in order to meet account performance objectives and customers’ expectations.
  • Manage complex pricing strategies and buying processes that will ensure revenue growth and product mix that will enhance profitability (i.e. pricing, delivery fee, solutions, etc.).

 

 

Education and Experience:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Sales Leadership, Project Management or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Sales, Marketing or Business Development Leadership or related field
  • Thorough functional knowledge of e-commerce and electronic billing system capabilities, both ODP Business Solutions and third party’s software, and working experience with the conversion/integration of systems.
  • Analytical ability with strategic planning and decision making skills.
  • Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong sales skills
  • Experience in implementing and maintaining large accounts.
  • An understanding of the customer relationship process, buying cycle and a demonstrated record of mid to senior level customer contacts.
  • A thorough grasp of professional and consultative selling skills to include a demonstrated history of successful contract negotiations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strategic thinking.
  • Self-motivating and accountable, independent entrepreneurial mindedness.
  • Must have a desire to develop and in-depth understanding and knowledge of the products and services offered by ODP Business Solutions.
  • Ability to work in a matrixed organization.
  • Flexible with respect to change initiatives.
