Senior IT Manager, Financial and Planning Systems (Remote)

Overview

The Financial and Planning Systems Manager is responsible for leading, delivering, and supporting implementation, development, and maintenance of financial systems and solutions at The ODP Corporation following a consistent and continuous software development life cycle.  Partner with business stakeholders and vendors to set priorities and manage resources to deliver IT solutions.  Define problem-solving and risk-mitigation strategies and facilitate conflict resolution throughout project life cycles.  Work with appropriate technical resources to identify, communicate and track issues through resolution.  Collaborate with internal and external application development, infrastructure, operation/support, project management office and architecture teams. Participate as part of the Corporate Systems Leadership Team in planning initiatives and setting direction.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage ODP financial systems including Oracle Fusion ERP Financials, Oracle E-Business Suite, Sales Accounting, Oracle EPM, Vertex.  Key processes include Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Record-to-Report, Expenses, Point-of-Sale Cash Office business processes and back-office systems.
  • Work with third-party vendors to implement and configure new systems, maintain existing systems, manage major system upgrades, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Drive innovation, business processes, and requirements; motivate cross-functional teams across IT and business functions.
  • Drive standards and governance across all financial and planning systems. Assist in developing and maintaining documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for Oracle Finance processes, ensuring consistency and compliance with organizational standards.
  • Be in the details and act as a business leader, owning data governance, process flows, customer experience, etc.
  • Participate in and influence Agile ceremonies including planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, team retrospectives, daily scrum, elaboration of epics and themes, writing user stories, and developing acceptance criteria.
  • Manage prioritization of projects/defects and work with teams to ensure proper resourcing and scheduling to resolve them.
  • Manage cross-functional business stakeholders and drive system automations, quality assurance, and processes to improve operational efficiencies of business operations.
  • Monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to Oracle Finance processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions as needed.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Level of Formal Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent experience 
  • Area of Study: Accounting, Information Systems, Finance or equivalent 
  • Years of Experience: Minimum 10 years experience in related field 
  • Type of Experience: 7+ years of experience overseeing financial system functionality and providing analysis, designs and solutions related to the general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, electronic payments, revenue recognition and fixed assets 
  • Technical Competencies:
    • Well versed in Order-to-Cash, Credit Card Payment Processing, Procure-to-Pay, Record-to-Report, EPM processes
    • Familiarity with cloud architecture and design
  • Skills and Ability:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including for non-technical resources and executive management. 
    • Excellent analytical skills.
    • Ability to facilitate smooth collaboration and relations between business and vendor partners.
    • Sets priorities, including for others, meet deadlines, and manage projects.
    • Present ideas in business and user-friendly language.
    • Display a high level of confidence.
    • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Execute per plan and budget.
  • Information Systems:
    • Experience in Oracle Fusion ERP Financials, Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle EPM
