Office Depot is seeking a dynamic Senior Manager, Pricing Analytics to lead our innovative team in driving success through strategic pricing initiatives. This role is pivotal in directing and developing a talented team of pricing analysts to deliver precise and impactful pricing analytics to our Merchandising Strategic Pricing organization. As an expert in pricing analysis, you will review strategic pricing data, competitor information, assist in managing annual operating profits (AOI), marketplace dynamics, and promotional strategies to shape optimal pricing plans. Your strong financial acumen will be instrumental in tracking key business metrics, allowing you to continually evaluate and refine our pricing strategy for superior performance. This position also involves identifying functional deficiencies and proposing data-driven alternative strategies to ensure our offerings remain competitive and relevant. Attention to detail is paramount, as you will ensure the meticulous execution of pricing strategies through advanced analytics skills and exceptional report creation ability. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Pricing Analysis:
    • Serve as an expert in pricing analysis by reviewing strategic pricing data, competitor information, marketplace dynamics, and promotional strategies to create pricing plans aimed at optimizing sales and margins.
  • Leadership:
    • Direct and develop a team of pricing analysts, ensuring that they produce accurate and impactful pricing analytics to support the Merchandising Strategic Pricing organization.
  • Financial Oversight:
    • Utilize high-level financial acumen to track key business metrics, continuously evaluate, and refine the pricing strategy for improved performance.
  • Analytical Problem-Solving:
    • Identify functional deficiencies and define alternative strategies based on data analytics, ensuring the competitiveness and relevance of pricing strategies.
    • Ensure the strategic execution of pricing strategies through strong analytics skills and exceptional report creation abilities, maintaining a high level of attention to detail throughout the process.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or Data Analysis, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in Merchandising, Retail and/or managing teams
  • Intermediate MS Excel Skills: Skills in compiling and organizing large data sets, including data validation and error checking.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy and precision in entering data, as well as in communication.
  • Leadership: influencing and motivating others, making strategic decisions, and providing direction
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Quickly identifying and resolving data discrepancies or other issues that arise.
  • Time Management: Effectively managing time to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Building and maintaining positive relationships with colleagues
